The **Chat** panel allows moderators to communicate privately with the research team or directly with the participant during a live session. Click the **Chat** icon from the top toolbar to open the **Chat room**.

The Chat room contains two separate tabs:

- **Private** – An internal chat visible only to the research team (Moderators, Observers, and Translators). Use this channel to discuss observations, share instructions, or coordinate during the session without the participant seeing these messages.

- **Participant** – A Chat channel between the **Moderators** and the **Participant**. Messages sent in this tab are visible to the participant and can be used to provide instructions, ask follow-up questions, or guide them through tasks during the session.

**Note:** Messages sent in the **Private** tab are never visible to the participant. Always ensure you are in the correct tab before sending a message.
