All recordings and information gathered will be used for research purposes only. ## **Preparing Your Device For The Session** Carefully read through the instructions. Copy the invite link in the email you receive from the researchers or organization. ![Email Invitation from researcher with Participant Link.png](media://416f3e68-09cc-45e0-b47f-16b7861c2a4c) *Email Invitation from researcher with Participant Link* - Open Google Chrome Browser. - Paste the invitation link into Chrome and press Enter. - Please connect to a stable internet connection before joining the session. - Paste the Participant link from the email ## **Select Your Preferred Language (If Available)** Some studies support multiple languages. If you see a language selection screen: 1. Select your preferred language. 2. Click Continue. Click **Enter Session**. ## **Allow Camera Access** DeepDive may request access to your camera. Click **Allow while visiting the site** or **Allow this time** when prompted by Chrome. This allows researchers to observe facial expressions during the session when required by the study. This means you have successfully joined and are waiting for the moderator to admit you into the session. You may see: - Moderator - The one who facilitates the session with participant (you) - Translator - The one who translates the communication between you and Moderator - Other participants (for Dyad or Triad sessions) ## **Session Controls** At the top of the session room, you will see the following controls: ### **Microphone** Turn your microphone on or off during the session. ### **Camera** Turn your camera on or off if permitted by the moderator. ### **Share** Share your screen when requested by the moderator. ### **Chat** Open the chat panel to communicate with the moderator and other participants. ### **Leave** Leave the session when instructed by the moderator. ## **Screen Sharing** When requested by the moderator: 1. Click the **Share** button. 2. Select the screen, window, or browser tab you wish to share. 3. Click **Share**. Depending on the study configuration, participant limitations may be enabled. When limitations are enabled: - Participants cannot directly communicate with each other. - Participants cannot hear each other. - Participants cannot see each other's shared screen. All communication will be facilitated through the moderator. ## **Triad Sessions** A Triad session includes: - One moderator - Three participants When you join a Triad session, you will see two additional participants in the participant list. Depending on the study configuration, participant limitations may be enabled. When limitations are enabled: - Participants cannot directly communicate with each other. - Participants cannot hear each other. - Participants cannot see each other's shared screen. All communication will be facilitated through the moderator. ## **Rejoining A Session** In some situations, the moderator may ask you to leave and rejoin the session. This may be required if: - Screen sharing is not working correctly - Camera permissions need to be refreshed - Microphone issues occur - Browser permissions need to be updated - The study requires you to switch from a computer to a mobile device - The moderator needs you to join from a different device to continue the session To rejoin: 1. Click **Leave**. 2. Wait for 2 to 3 minutes. 3. Reopen Google Chrome. 2. Copy and paste the original invitation link. 3. Rejoin the session. The moderator will admit you back into the session. ## **Additional Notes** - Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser only. - Ensure that your internet is not behind a firewall and you are not using VPN. - Keep your internet connection stable throughout the session. - Do not close the browser tab during the session. - Follow all instructions provided by the moderator. - Ensure screen sharing remains active whenever requested by the moderator. If you experience any issues during the session, notify the moderator immediately through voice or chat.
