## **How to Enable the SUS Score in Your Test**
You can enable the **SUS Score** in your **Unmoderated Usability Test** with a simple toggle:
1. Go to your test creation screen.
2. On the **left-side panel**, click the toggle button (On) to enable SUS questions for the participants.
*SUS Score is a pre-existing question in Task creation*
3. When SUS Score is enabled, the following items will appear.
- The 10 SUS questions are automatically added at the end of your test.
- These questions use a Likert scale from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree).
- The SUS questions are automatically shown in the “[Test Language](https://help.uxarmy.com/space/NF/301957121/Set+Language+in+Unmoderated+Test+&+surveys+for+your+participants.#%F0%9F%9A%80-How-to-Set-the-Test-Language)” selected in the test settings.
- You may also manually edit or translate the questions to customise the wording if needed.
## **Editing & Translating SUS Questions**
You can **edit** each of the SUS questions:
- Click the question text (**The question you want to reword**) to enable editing mode
- You can modify the wording to fit your product or audience better and simplify the phrasing for clearer understanding.
- Your changes save automatically when clicking outside the question field.
- To apply changes after editing questions on a test that has already received responses, remember to **click 'Go Live'.**
To see how the SUS questions will appear to participants, click the **Preview** icon located in the top-right corner of the test creation screen.
### **Where to Find SUS Results**
Once participants have completed the test with SUS questions, follow these steps to view the results:
1. Click on the **Results** tab.
2. Open the **SUS Score** tab as shown in the image below.

- **Overall SUS Score (0–100) under Overview **
A single usability score averaged across all participants.
- **Per-Participant Scores**
Individual SUS scores listed for each participant.
- **To see participant answers, click on the Rating given by the participant. **

**How to calculate SUS Score**
SUS provides a quick usability health check for your design. Think of it as a user satisfaction report card, giving you a score out of 100 that indicates how well your design performs.
1. Set up your scoring: Strongly Disagree = 1, Disagree = 2, Neutral = 3, Agree = 4, Strongly Agree = 5
2. Apply adjusted score:
1. Odd questions (1,3,5,7,9) - "Good" questions: Take the score and subtract 1
2. Even questions (2,4,6,8,10) - "Bad" questions: Take 5 and subtract the score
Why this works: Odd questions ask about good things ("easy to use"), even questions about bad things ("too complex"). We flip the bad ones so all point the same way.
3. Add them all up and multiply by 2.5. Let's say your user gave these responses:
- Convert SUS responses to numbers, 1 for “Strongly Disagree”, and 5 for “Strongly Agree”.
- For odd-numbered questions, subtract 1 from the response.
- For even-numbered questions, subtract the response from 5.
- Add the scores from each question and multiply the total by 2.5.

**Total Adjusted Score = 26**
**Final SUS Score = 26 × 2.5 = 65**
**How to Interpret SUS Scores**

SUS is not a percentage. A score of 70+ is generally considered usable.
**Red flag**: If you're scoring below 68, your design suffers from serious usability issues that require urgent attention
**Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**
1. **Will editing the questions affect the SUS scoring?**
SUS is a validated measurement tool, which means the exact wording has been rigorously tested and standardized. Any changes to the questions will:
- Break the validity of your results.
- Prevent comparison to established benchmarks (like the 68-point average).
- Compromise the reliability of your data.
- Make your findings unusable for research or business decisions.
2. **What languages are supported for SUS questions?**
SUS questions are automatically shown in the Test [Language](https://uxarmy.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UT/pages/83230724) selected in the test settings to the **participant**, If you have not edited the default, once you edit it will be shown in your typed language.

3. **Can I edit SUS questions after responses have been collected?**
Yes, you can update the questions at any time. Just make sure to click “Go Live” so the changes take effect for new participants.
4. **Can extra questions be added or existing questions deleted?**
No, the standard SUS has 10 fixed questions. You can't add, remove, or change questions to keep the SUS scoring intact system.
5. **Can I reorder the questions?**
No, the order of the SUS questions is fixed. Reordering is not allowed to preserve the reliability and consistency of the standardised scoring.
