If you need more participants beyond your own pool, Panel Credits provide a simple way to access a wide range of qualified testers. These credits are available for users on the Starter, Pro and Organization plans. They give you access to UXArmy’s elite list of participants, making it easy to find specific or niche participants for your research projects.

This guide will help you understand how Panel Credits work, how to top them up, and how they can be used effectively in your UX research.


## <span style="color: #0747a6">**What Are Panel Credits?**</span>

Panel credits are an add-on that allows you to access UXArmy’s carefully curated list of high-quality participants. These credits are designed for users who need participants that fit specific criteria for their research, such as geographic location, demographics, or niche interests.

With panel credits, you can:

- **Get Top quality participants**: Only the best, pre-vetted testers make it into the panel
- **Custom recruitment**: Use screener questions and demographic filters to target the right participants
- **Pay only for responses**: Panel credits are only consumed when you get valid responses, meaning you’re paying for what you need, not what you don’t

- **Free Plan Users**: You **must upgrade to a paid plan to use Panel Credits.** You can still use self sourced participants, but access to the UXArmy panel is restricted to paid plans only
- **Starter, Pro & Organization Plan Users**: Panel Credits can be topped up as needed, and you can recruit as many participants as required.

Panel credits are consumed when you receive responses from participants across specific research methods. Currently, panel credits are available for:

- **Advanced Usability Tests**: Dive deep into how users interact with your product, collecting meaningful insights with the help of the right testers
- **Figma Usability Tests**: Test your Figma prototypes with a targeted group of participants to get real-world feedback before going live
- **Surveys**: Reach out to a broad audience for feedback with customized surveys, filtering participants to ensure you gather the right data

Each of these methods consumes panel credits based on the responses you receive. The number of panel credits required depends on the research type. Here’s the breakdown:

## <span style="color: #0747a6">**How to Top Up Panel Credits**</span>

Topping up Panel Credits is easy and flexible. Here’s how you can do it:

1. **Go to ‘Settings’**: Log in to the UXArmy platform and go to your account settings
2. **Navigate to ‘Credits’**
3. **Top Up Panel Credits**: In the Panel Credits section, you’ll see the option to “Add Credits”. Click on it, and you’ll be prompted to select the number of credits you need to add to your account
4. **Complete the Process**: Follow the instructions to complete the payment and top up your Panel Credits

Once the top-up is complete, the credits will be available immediately for use in your tests.

**No, Panel Credits are only available to users on Starter, Pro or Organization plans**. If you're on a Free plan, you’ll need to upgrade to use Panel Credits.


<span style="color: #0747a6">**What happens if I run out of Panel Credits during my test? **</span>

If you run out of Panel Credits, you can immediately top up and continue your test.


<span style="color: #0747a6">**Do panel credits expire?**</span>

Panel credits do not expire and remain accessible in your account. However, to use panel credits for participant recruitment, an active paid plan is required.


<span style="color: #0747a6">**How is panel credit calculated?**</span>

Panel Credits are calculated based on the number of participants you recruit from UXArmy's panel.

For example, recruiting 5 test participants from the UXArmy panel for an unmoderated usability test costs 145 Panel Credits, plus Platform Credits for response collection.

Panel Credits cost $1 each and can be topped up at any time on our paid plans.

Yes, you can use your own participants without any additional costs. However, if you choose to recruit participants from the UXArmy panel, you will need to use Panel Credits.
